Wir haben diese Bar auf dem Weg durch die Innenstadt entdeckt und da nebenan alles voll war (mit Schlange), haben wir uns für diese Bar entschieden. Definitiv die richtige Entscheidung! Schneller Service, leckere Getränke und gutes Essen (wir hatten den Degenfisch mit Banane) und sehr freundliche und kommunikative Kellner. Wir würden definitiv wieder hierherkommen für Ponchas und Essen. ~ Wanja M

Un muy buen lugar para comer y tomar algo, la comida y bebida son muy deliciosos, y además la atención que te ofrece Miguel es excelente muy recomendable, nos atendió muy bien, incluso tuvo el detalle de recomendarnos sitios y orientarnos sobre la isla!… Habla español y portugués, además de tener a la venta productos tanto latinos como originarios de madeira de buena calidad ~ Ricardo A

Wir waren heute in der Madeira Tropical Bar und haben das Prego Special gegessen. Es war frisch zubereitet und hat sehr lecker geschmeckt. Die Pommes waren im Menü enthalten und die Menge war perfekt um satt zu werden, aber nicht zu voll zu sein. Dazu gab es für uns Cola (auch diese war ebenfalls im Preis enthalten). Der Kellner war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben pro Person € 8,50 bezahlt . Da kann man nicht meckern. 🙃😉 ~ Monique G

A minha experiência neste bar superou as espectativas, pois desde o atendimento à comida foi tudo 5 estrelas. Apesar de tudo ter sido excelente, e de o recomendar vivamente, a quem visite Madeira, não posso deixar de destacar a simpatia, profissionalismo, dedicação e educação do filho dos donos do bar,pois foi neste bar que eu experiênciei a maior simpatia, e acolhimento, durante a minha estada de 5 dias naquela Ilha. ~ Michael S

Odwiedziliśmy miejsce dwukrotnie podczas naszego pobytu na wyspie. Bardzo dobra poncha, sycące i smaczne bolo do caco ze stekiem. Zarówno do ponchy, jak i do piwa dostaliśmy bardzo dużo przekąsek, za co duży plus! 😄 Super obsługa, dbająca do swoich klientów! Polecamy ❤️ ~ Kacha

Sitio genial para comer y probar la famosa poncha. El servicio es excelente, la comida muy rica y la poncha la hicieron en el mismo momento, muy buena! También tiene para comprar comida y bebida y el dueño te hace recomendaciones en función de lo que busques. Sin duda repetiría, 100% recomendable!! ~ Marta S

L'accueil est particulièrement sympathique et la poncha très fraîche et savoureuse. Beaucoup de soin également dans la préparation des divers cocktails (mojito et Nikita entre autres) ! Nous avons été tout naturellement fidèles à cet établissement pendant la durée de notre séjour. ~ Fabienne S

Super lokal, miła i szybka obsługa, zaraz obok zatłoczonego lokalu. Cieszyliśmy się, że trafiliśmy do Madeira Tropical Bar, a noe obok, bo było zdecydowanie spokojniej. Polecam!!! Ps. Za duże piwo 2,5 euro, a w pobliżu najtańsze jest za 6 euro 😁 ~ ziutka z

Świetne miejsce na spróbowanie lokalnej ponchy! 🍹 Dobra ryba z bananem, smaczne jedzenie i bardzo przystępne ceny. Do tego zimne piwo i świetna atmosfera. Obsługa miła i sprawna. Jeśli jesteście na Maderze, warto tu zajrzeć. Polecam! ~ Jakub K

War in der Carnaval (2026) Zeit zweimal später Nachts dort. Weil es in den anderen umliegenden Bistros und Bars sehr stark besucht war, hier fand ich noch einen Sitzplatz. Ein Coral oder Poncha gehabt. Ein Sandwich. Alles war gut, wurde schnell serviert, ~ Klaus W

Recomiendo mucho este snack bar. Ofrecen una excelente atención al cliente, un ambiente muy acogedor, y la poncha está deliciosa. Además, tienen una bonita selección de recuerdos (souvenirs) ideales para llevar un pedacito del lugar contigo ~ Adriana L

Las bebidas muy refrescantes bien servidas, fueron muy atentos con nosotros, nos sentimos cómodos, tienen gran variedad de souvenirs tradicionales de madeira. Ideal para comer ligero, beber refrescante y venden muchas cosas bonitas de madeira. ~ Rosmir R

We went here our first day and were blown away by the prices of everything. Such good prices and the food & drinks were amazing. The service and atmosphere is also amazing, the people at the place really like their job and people which you can really feel. We went back here several times and they even put on a World Cup game and switched channels when they saw my jersey. They are very generous and the service is also super fast. Bomben Getränke zu Hammer Preisen, das Essen sah auch super aus haben aber nichts probiert. Getränke waren dafür sehr lecker und sehr gut gemacht, top Empfehlung Das Bier kostet hier für das 0,5l nur 2,50€ und das in der Stadt ~ Kevin H

Geweldige bar! De eerste avond in Madeira zijn wij hier zo goed ontvangen dat wij hier elke avond een heerlijke Poncha hebben gedronken. Top service van de eigenaar! Vertelt met veel passie over zijn traditionele drinks + food! ~ Evie D

Genuinely my absolute favourite place/bar in Funchal! The poncha and nikita are really fresh and super good! They also have a variety of different local products which was super practical to stock up for hikes. The owner is an absolute gem of a person, super kind and always there to serve the best!! Also met some amazing locals here and ended up coming to this place almost every night for a drink because the atmosphere feels very welcoming. 200% recommend this spot !! 🫶 ~ Antoine G

Unseren allerersten Poncha haben wir in dieser fantastischen Bar genossen – entdeckt über Social Media und die Erwartungen wurden absolut übertroffen! Sowohl die Getränke als auch das Essen waren extrem lecker. Das Personal ist super freundlich und aufmerksam, sodass man sich direkt wohlfühlt. Ein unschlagbares Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis: Für einen Poncha, einen Aperol, eine Cola, 4 kleine getoastete Sandwiches und ein Pastel de Nata haben wir gerade einmal 17,30 € gezahlt. Und das mitten im Herzen von Funchal! Absolute Empfehlung – wir kommen definitiv wieder! 🍹🥪 ~ Michael C

We came to the tropical bar a few times during our stay in Madeira. Each time we were greeted with friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere. We also ate here for lunch and dinner. The steak, chicken and tuna dishes were extremely nice and great value. The steak sandwich was also nice. Prices are very reasonable and much cheaper than the surrounding bars and restaurants. Recommended if you are in town. ~ Steve R

Visited on September 15 and 17, 2025 upon landing (late evening) in Funchal. I tried the regional (traditional), passionfruit, kiwi, and strawberry poncha - all were very delicious. The kiwi is probably my favourite aside from the traditional, as it seemed to have tajin or similar in the bottom which was a lovely spicy/punchy surprise. I also tried the tequeños which were 10/10 for a little pub style appetizer for one (from my understanding, these are Venezuelan). If you are from the west, they are like mozzarella sticks but way WAY better (cheese wrapped in pastry as opposed to breaded). They also give you a little dish of peanuts to accompany the poncha which is a traditional accompaniment. I loved the vibes on the terrace late at night; warm, airy, cozy. Note that it's a smaller seating area from the Rei da Poncha seating area! Which is the main area and much more popular/busy. It's a case of line up vs no line. The staff was very friendly and welcoming; I was able to buy a bottle of aguardente de cana to bring home to (attempt to) make poncha for my friends in Canada.
